[de] In this paper, the application of the computer program SAFIR to study the behaviour of a steel framed structure exposed to fire is illustrated. As a case study, a four storey framed structure is analysed under various fire scenarios. It is shown that the fire resistance is enhanced when the overall structural behaviour is considered, rather than the concept based on single elements.
