Abstract :
[en] This dataset supports the assessment of passive envelope strategies for naturally ventilated housing in hot West African climates. It combines one year of hourly indoor air-temperature measurements from an occupied one-bedroom F2 dwelling in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, with a calibrated single-zone DesignBuilder and EnergyPlus model. The simulation dataset covers 90 annual cases combining six wall systems and five roof systems across Ouagadougou, Dori, and Bobo-Dioulasso, representing the BSh, BWh, and Aw Köppen-Geiger climate types. It also includes a night-ventilation variant of the best-performing configuration and models prepared for sensitivity analysis. Hourly operative temperatures, weather files, material properties, scenario definitions, calibration outputs, and Python post-processing scripts are provided. The scripts calculate ASHRAE Guideline 14 calibration metrics, ASHRAE Standard 55 adaptive thermal-discomfort hours, and the principal figures and tables associated with the study. The dataset enables independent verification of the reported results and supports further research on thermal comfort, passive cooling, and climate-responsive housing in West Africa.
