This paper offers a new critical edition of the two medical prescriptions from P.Hib. II 192 →, dated by the first editors between 270 and 250 BC. After placing the papyrus, extracted from a cartonnage, in its archaeological and historical context, we offer a paleographic examination of P.Hib. II 192, as well as an analysis of the contents and structure of the two prescriptions, highlighting their formal and pharmacological similarities. This study identifies the first prescription as a dermatological remedy for the treatment of wounds caused by venomous animal bites, while the second, explicitly devoted to the preparation of pessaries, is part of the gynecological tradition.
