Abstract :
[en] The present study explores the under-investigated phenomenon of family-to-work enrichment within family businesses. The objective is to understand the family characteristics that facilitate the acquisition of resources, thereby enhancing family members' performance in the business context. Drawing on work-family interface and family business literature, we examine how characteristics such as parental support serve as antecedents to family-to-work enrichment. Adopting a qualitative exploratory design, the study involves in-depth interviews with millennial family members from Belgian family firms and uses reflexive thematic analysis to interpret the data. This study aims to contribute to work-family and family business research by addressing several gaps in literature. It explores the positive aspects of work-family interdependencies, with a focus on family-to-work enrichment, and seeks to bridge family business and broader theoretical frameworks. In practical terms, this study aims to raise awareness among consultants and FB members about the pivotal role of family characteristics.
