Abstract :
[en] The growing computational capabilities of electronic systems on aerospace platforms present new challenges for thermal management, highlighting the need to rethink architectures such as two-phase mechanically pumped loops (2PMPL). These systems, which rely on the latent heat of vaporisation for heat acquisition and rejection, require careful selection of the working fluid. In this context, where energy consumption and the reliability of the pumping stage are closely tied to pressure losses within the loop, this study examines the correlation between Figures of Merit (FoMs) and pressure losses, derived from 1D simulations using the homogeneous model. The formulation principles for existing FoMs are analysed, and a new FoM is proposed for fluid selection in a single-loop 2PMPL configuration.
