Abstract :
[en] In recent years, there has been a marked increase in the number of patients referred for the suspicion of hypersensitivity reactions to iodinated contrast media (ICM). There are immediate reactions occurring less than 1 hour and delayed reactions appearing from less than 1 hour up to 7 days, after ICM injection. Although rare, anaplylaxis to ICM could be lige-threatening. It is important to identify the offending product and refer the patient to safer alternatives. However, due to a lack of data on the negative predictive value of skin tests, recommendations for diagnostic tests remain controversial.
