Abstract :
[en] This study aims to better understand the conditions for a possible positive impact of migrant remittances in the light of migratory flows, on food security and the fight against poverty after a climate shock suffered on a regional scale. To do this, we used a specified VAR (vector autoregressive) model on panel data from seven (07) countries of Economic and Monetary Union West-Africa (EMUWA), over the period 1990-2010. The results show a direct and positive impact of remittances on the prevalence of undernourishment and poverty reduction in low-rainfall countries, with an agricultural sector dominated by food crops and international migrants mostly from rural areas.
