[en] This paper presents the CASTLE4D project and its application to the castle of Franchimont (Theux, Province of Liège, Belgium). The combination of traditional archaeological methods and new technologies (3D digitisation) will result in the development of an Archaeological Information System (AIS), based on Geographic Information systems (GIS). This AIS is going to gather all types of available documents for the study of this castle whilst organising them spatially and chronologically around the 3D model. This tool will then help to create a historic geovisualisation, which should modify its appearance according to the selected time period and the data linked to this phase. This way, the establishment and the verification of hypothesis is going to have a visual support (the three-dimensional digitisation) and a collection of the sources on which the different theories were elaborated on. [fr] Cet article présente le projet CASTLE4D et son application au château de Franchimont (Theux, province de Liège, Belgique). La combinaison de méthodes archéologiques dites traditionnelles et de nouvelles technologies (numérisation 3D) conduiront au développement d’un Système d’Information Archéologique (SIA), basé sur des Systèmes d’Informations Géographiques (SIG). Ce SIA réunira tous types de documents disponibles pour l’étude du château tout en les organisant spatialement et temporellement autour du modèle 3D. Cet outil participera à la création d’une géovisualisation historique. Celle-ci se modifiera son apparence selon la période sélectionnée et les données associées à cette phase. Ainsi, l’établissement et la vérification d’hypothèses disposera d’un support visuel (la numérisation tridimensionnelle) et d’une synthèse des sources à partir desquelles ont été élaborées les différentes théories [de] Dieser Beitrag präsentiert das CASTLE4D Projekt und seine Anwendung bezogen auf die Burg von Franchimont (Theux, Provinz Lüttich, Belgien). Die Verbindung von sogenannten traditionellen archäologischen Methoden und von neuen Technologien (3D scannen) wird zur Entwicklung eines archäologischen Informationssystem führen (AIS), basierend auf geografischen Informationssystemen (GIS). Dieses AIS wird alle Dokumentsorten vereinen, die die Studien zu dieser Burg unterstützen werden, und sie räumlich und zeitlich um das 3D-Modell strukturieren. Dieses Arbeitsinstrument wird an der Erstellung einer historischen Geovisualisierung beitragen. Diese wird ihr Erscheinungsbild je nach ausgewählter Periode und den Daten, die dieser Zeitspanne entsprechen, verändern. Somit wird sowohl die Erstellung als auch die Überprüfung von Hypothesen mithilfe von Anschauungsmaterial (dreidimensionale Digitalisierung) und einer Zusammenfassung der für die verschiedenen erarbeiteten Themen benutzten Quellen unterstützt.
