[en] Chrysanthellum indicum DC subsp. americanum ( sold under the name of Chrysanthellum americanum) shows an antiradicalar activity against diphenylpicrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH). the activity seems to be mainly due to unusual flavonoids (e.g. mareine ( a chalcone) and maritimein ( an aurone) .Dilute alcoholic extracts would not be used for extract preparations because the glycosides are rapidly hydrolysed.
