[en] A cheilitis is an inflammatory disease confined to the lips. Several origins are recognized. Their nature is often different in children and adults. Some are spongiotic due to irritation or allergic reaction. Other lesions are keratotic and can evolve to leucoplasia and epidermoid carcinoma.
