Abstract :
[en] In contrast to other imaging techniques, scintigraphy provides information about the physiology of the lung rather than anatomical observations. As opposed to other pulmonary function tests, scintigraphy provides regional evaluation instead of global measurement of lung function. This non-invasive imaging technique improves knowledge of the pathophysiologic processes involved in respiratory disorders. Furthermore, it is a sensitive method to early diagnosis of inflammatory process. It is also an unique tool to study the deposition of therapeutic aerosol within the respiratory tract.
