[en] The paper attempts to describe the main typologies of the urbanization in Belgium, their evolution and their incidence on the everyday mobility of persons.
The comparison between the systems of land use allows to approach, through concrete cases, one of the fundamental aspects of the relationship "development - mobility", namely the impact of the compactness (density) of an urban system on the generation of mobility.
Furthermore, this paper tries to confirm / infirm the validity of certain assumptions describing the future supply and demand in the areas of urbanization and communication, taking account of current observed patterns : a tendency to extend the isotropic urbanization and a steady and diversified growth of the car oriented mobility. [fr] La communication s’attache à décrire les principales typologies de l’urbanisation en Belgique, leur évolution et leur incidence sur la mobilité pendulaire de personnes.
La comparaison entre les systèmes d’occupation du sol permet d’aborder, au travers de cas concrets, un des aspects fondamentaux de la relation “aménagement-déplacement” à savoir l’incidence de la compacité (densité) d’un système urbain sur la génération de mobilité.
De plus, cette intervention tente de faire le point sur la validité de certaines hypothèses décrivant l’offre et la demande futures dans les domaines de l’urbanisation et de la communication, compte tenu des tendances actuellement observées : tendance à l’expansion isotropique de l’urbanisation et accroissement soutenu et diversifié de la mobilité automobile.
