Abstract :
[en] Desacetylretuline has been extracted from the rootbark of Strychnos variabilis collected in Congo (Zaïre). The structure determinatiion was deduced from spectral data (UV,IR, MS, NMR, and CD).It is the first time that this alkaloid is found in Nature.
