Abstract :
[en] "Caringly" is a visual poem about the ageing and maintenance of concrete infrastructures. It contrasts the modernist promise of reinforced concrete as permanent, stable and almost eternal with the material reality of cracking, deterioration and obsolescence. Drawing on the Japanese art of Kintsugi, the poster reimagines cracks through golden lines, suggesting that damage is not only a sign of failure but also a site of care, attention and repair. By connecting fractured concrete to the industrial systems built upon it, the poster questions the fragility of the material foundations of modernity. Ultimately, it reframes maintenance as a caring practice through which ageing structures are observed, sustained and, in some cases, transformed.
