Abstract :
[en] As the demand for global food production continues to surge, combating plant pathogens becomes increasingly imperative. This review delves deeply into the intricate dynamics of plant-pathogen interactions, intending to provide a thorough understanding of the challenges and strategies in agricultural science. We explore the underlying mechanisms governing these interactions, scrutinizing the tactics employed by both plants and pathogens in an ongoing evolutionary battle. By assessing the impact of plant diseases on global food security, we outline essential plant disease management strategies, ranging from traditional methods to emerging biological control approaches, emphasizing the necessity of integrating these methods for effective plant pathogen management within the framework of sustainable agriculture. Furthermore, we shed light on recent advancements in molecular tools and omics technologies, showcasing groundbreaking research that is reshaping our comprehension of these interactions. Our analysis underscores the critical requirement to develop sophisticated plant disease models incorporating nuanced climate projections for effective management. Additionally, we examine the potential of technological breakthroughs such as CRISPR/Cas genome editing and omics methodologies to enhance plant resistance. Nonetheless, there are still hurdles in pinpointing additional metabolites implicated in pathogen-host interactions, potentially leading to a more profound comprehension of these intricate relationships. This exploration of one of the challenges of modern agriculture is a valuable resource for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners seeking innovative solutions to safeguard the global food supply.
