Abstract :
[en] The volume is the first theoretical and historical work to approach from transcultural and interartistic perspectives the Italian and Belgian visual poetry phenomenon in the 1960s and 1970s with regard to historic avant-gardes, transnational networks, and counterculture literary magazines. Based on an interdisciplinary approach combining the fields of visual art, comparative literature, and intermedia studies, "Engaged Visuality" is a crucial step in the study of European postwar visual poetics.
