Abstract :
[en] Synchronized phasor measurements [1], fast communications, and powerful computational facilities, as the core WAMPAC technologies open possibility to achieve a comprehensive solution for wide-area voltage stability monitoring, instability detection, and control. Expected financial benefits of wide area monitoring and control deployment are related to congestion management (more accurate computations of available margins for voltage stability limited systems) and/or reducing the risk of catastrophic blackouts (and all associated societal and economic costs).
