Herodotus; Papyrus roll; Graeco-Roman Museum (Alexandria); John Rylands University Library (Manchester)
Abstract :
[en] This article presents an edition of P.Alex. inv. 344, a second century papyrus fragment containing remnants of Herodotus, II, 113.2-3 and 114.2. First identified as such by O. Bouquiaux Simons in 1991, this fragment from the Graeco-Roman Museum (Alexandria) has since remained unpublished. An analysis of its layout, palaeography and content demonstrates that P.Alex. inv. 344 belonged to the same roll as P.Ryl. I 55 (or, at the very least, to the same editorial project).
