Abstract :
[en] ANIMA MUNDI brings together a consortium of thirteen organisations, composed of academic institutions and key representatives of creative and cultural industries, to assess the current state of the European Animation Industry (hereafter ‘EAI’) in the European and global cultural scenes and audiovisual markets. The project aspires to unlock the untapped potential of European animation by developing novel, evidence-based and theoretically-sound strategies aimed at enhancing the competitiveness and promotion of European animation across the EU Member States and abroad by studying the topic from cultural and media studies, economics, legal, international relations and political science perspectives.
This project deliverable is the outcome of the research activities organised in Work Package 4 Stakeholder Workshops. WP4 aims to establish contacts between the EAIE, academia, the CCI, and local, national, and international authorities, as well as creators Hubs, and – by bringing key stakeholders together to identify common challenges and needs – generate ideas and challenge established thinking. Five workshops with 43 participants were organised between June and September 2025 to discuss 1) the social relevance of animation and EAI, 2) the management of IP, 3) discoverability, audiences and consumption, and 4) institutions, partnerships and promotion. The workshop data was analysed by using the qualitative thematic analysis method.
