Abstract :
[en] This paper investigates the valency-increasing potential of Associated Motion (AM) markers from a cross-linguistic perspective. From a typological perspective, it is still unknown how widespread this functional extension of AM markers is and what the main types of variation are. This paper presents the results of a pilot study investigating these issues in a probability sample of 75 languages and a convenience sample of 19 languages.
