[en] Mental fatigue is prevalent among stroke survivors, manifesting as a feeling of exhaustion after prolonged mental effort. Despite its association with sleep and sleepiness, its impact on cognition, especially the interaction between cognitive resources and fatigue levels, is not well understood. This study has two objectives: first, to examine how induced mental fatigue affects cognitive performance in stroke patients compared to healthy controls; second, to investigate whether stroke patients show a greater propensity to rest than healthy controls.
