[en] The definition of human consciousness has been variant along the past years. Now more than ever we are called to come closer to what we mean by conscious experience. In my lecture, I will try to determine some critical aspects of human consciousness as derived from our work with unconscious and noncommunicating states. I will show how brain and peripheral physiology alter in conditions where reportability is diminished, under the premise that these constitute necessary prerequisites of conscious human experience.
