Cerebral blood flow; 15 oxygen; Position emission; Cerebral water volume
Abstract :
[en] The present investigation uses bolus inhalation of C15 O2 and sequential positron emission tomography of the brai in view to simultaneously evaluate regional cerebral blood flow and regional cerebral volume of rapidly exchangeable water in normal human subjects. Arguments allow to infer that the cerebral distribution volume of radiowater does vary with time during the inital period of invasion of tissue by the indicator. Implications of this variation on the validity of classical data analysis procedures is discussed and an alternative original method is proposed.
