Abstract :
[en] Tritiated hydrogen generated from tritium labelled compounds is introduced into a 100 cm3 ionisation chamber and the filling is completed to atmospheric pressure with ordinary hydrogen; a 300 volts potential difference is established between the electrodes and the ionisation current is determined with a vibrating reed electrometer by the rate of drift method. This set up is able to detect 1 desintegration per second and reduces the background to a value equivalent to the current generated by 2 desintegrations per second, When the activity is above 15 desintegrations per second, the standard deviation on its measurement does not exceed 2 %.
