Abstract :
[en] This paper deals with a partial reproduction of the Northern obelisk of Hatshepsut from the Wadjyt in Karnak, published in the XVIIIth century in the famous Recueil d’antiquités by the Comte de Caylus. The description of Caylus himself and some peculiarities of the reproduction which, according to Caylus, was done based on a miniature model of the obelisk rather than from the original monument, is discussed, as well as the career of the consul Claude Le Maire, to whom this miniature model originally belonged.
