Abstract :
This presentation will begin by exploring how DIY integrates with and supports Open Science (inclusion, efficiency, education and sovereignty), before addressing some of its ideological obstacles. It will then list some key trends and elements in the design and sharing of DIY laboratory tools. Finally, she will discuss the concept of DIY as applied to a basic analytical chemistry technique: spectrophotometry. Different designs and methodologies will be discussed, along with their advantages and disadvantages.
