[en] Dendric shift spaces are known to possess many interesting properties, especially related to return words. Unfortunately, they are not stable under conjugacy, which led to the study of eventually dendric shift spaces by Dolce and Perrin. They showed that this larger family of shift spaces was indeed closed for topological conjugacy while preserving some of the properties of dendric shift spaces.
This talk is a (partial) overview of the properties of eventually dendric shift spaces, with
some new and not well-known results. We also provide partial answers for some questions
that are still open.
