Abstract :
[en] The statistics collected on the seasonal appearance of 208 eases of so-called “idiopathic” detachment of the retina show the following resulls: Summer 31%, Spring 30%. Autumn 21%, Wilder 18%. There seems to be the possibility llial continued intensive subjection to the rays of the sun could be the releasing agent lo a detachment of the retina. There is reason therefore, to advise patients who are predisposed to this affection to spurn bright light and to wear dark glasses on sunny days. © 1945 S. Karger AG, Basel.
