Abstract :
[en] It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future! The speed at which new technologies get accepted by the market is fundamentally affected by the Return On Investment users can expect from their adoption. Over the last three decades, the financial sector has undoubtedly embraced the digital revolution. But, isn’t it fair to say that its customers – individuals and businesses –, are not fully convinced that they were the main beneficiaries? Blockchains, particularly crypto tokens based on proof of work like Bitcoin, offer a credible alternative both as a means of exchange and as a store of value. Michael Saylor’s last keynote presentation provides interesting insights into its future, assuming no significant discontinuities in its regulatory and technical environment. Two recent videos – Fred Thiel and Michael Saylor – usefully complete this picture.
