Abstract :
[en] Pr ogress of medical knowledge pushed the limits of medicine. This raises major ethical issues. The Belgian lawmaker, concerned to ensure the observance of Human Rights, attempted to regulate some of these issues. It remains essential to listen to the patient and to respect his/her will. Likewise, defining therapeutic goals based on patient's values and priorities is crucial until the end of patient's life.
