[en] Following the death of Alexander the Great, the Macedonian Ptolemies ruled Ancient Egypt from 323 BC to 30 BC. On a mosaic and coins, a portrait of Berenice II, one member of this dynasty of pharaohs, is notable for prominent eyes and neck .Following the death of Alexander the Great, the Macedonian Ptolemies ruled Ancient Egypt from 323 BC to 30 BC. Whether these peculiar representations of queen Berenice II are a mimesis (a truly resemblance for Greeks) or just an artistic exaltation, we shall not know. As the traces
