Abstract :
[en] Advanced head and neck cancer patients received exclusive radiotherapy after a low dose neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Analysis of complete tumour control shows a significant link with the chemotherapy response. The predictive power was present for primary tumours and nodes. Patients achieving complete radiotherapy control with a major chemotherapy response had a far better prognosis at 3 years. Selection of cases curable without undergoing mutilating surgery appears possible.
