chemotherapy; radiotherapy; combined modality; head and neck cancer
Abstract :
[en] The efficacy of a low dose chemotherapy soon before radical treatment of head and neck cancers was assessed. An overall response rate (CR+PR) of 75% was obtained . This outpatient chemotherapy did not preclude the planned radiotherapy. Tolerance remained unchanged. Complete regression amounted to 34/36 for primary tumours and 18/25 in nodes. More cases and time will show a possible long term benefit.
