Abstract :
[en] What strategies do social economy organizations (SEOs) deploy to expand their operations across borders and how scaling social impact is related to each strategy? What are the challenges for international SEOs in preserving and extending their socially oriented practices and values? What approaches can international SEOs adopt to maintain a sustainable balance between social and economic performance? Do they embody a genuine alternative in the international business arena to corporate managerialism and conventional multinationals? This chapter aims to shed light on these questions which are critical to better understand the nature and evolution of the New Social Economy. The discussions are illustrated with examples of high-profile SEOs that are operating successfully on a global scale while engaging in communitarian purposes, social values, and cooperative practices.
