[en] In the global framework of river management, sedimentation problems in dam reservoirs and adjacent structures are multiple and of major interest for designers as well as dam owners or managers. Before dam construction, these problems can be assessed by several techniques. In this paper, the experimental and numerical sedimentation studies realized at the Laboratory of Applied Hydrodynamics and Hydraulic Constructions (HACH) of the University of Liège on a large hydropower plant project in India are presented. Three main issues related to sedimentation problems are analyzed in details.
