[en] Starting from an exploration of some characteristics of the Enlightenment philosophy, the article aims to emphasize how in it there was a reevaluation of the sphere of feeling, that influences the way the philosophy is understood. This is an area that is not necessarily connected to darkness or illogicality, but instead opens us to a different cognitive dimension, a primarily aesthetic dimension. The philosophy of D. Diderot, which configures itself as a philosophy of sensibility, is the one that best shows us this dynamic. In the context of his philosophical and literary production, his work Jacques le fataliste et son maître is analyzed to find out how it fully expresses that different way of approaching things: one must immerse oneself in the multiplicity and unpredictability of reality in order to understand it.
