[en] Based on an ethnographic study in an organization of civil disobedience and on interviews with journalists who covered its actions, this article examines the complex relationship between media and social movements. The study of media shaping of collective action is complemented by the analysis of interdependence between journalists and activists and the various transactions between these two types of actors. The social affinity between journalists and activists not only promotes a common awareness of political issues at stake, but also the establishment of direct collaboration in order to defend their respective interests. Thus, journalistic imperatives (spectacular images, simple and short content) combine with militant imperatives of the organization, whose main objective is to challenge public opinion on specific issues.
