Abstract :
[en] This chapter relates several recent case studies to explore how this methodology can be used in and improved by different professional contexts. Co-authored with Marc Zune, the first case study addresses working situations in the new economy - also referred to as the “collaborative economy” or the “platform capitalism”. Co-authored with Pierre Stassart, Antoinette Dumont, Camille Lacombe and Stéphanie Klaedtke, a second case study underlines the challenges of the agroecological transition. The third case study is based on a close dialogue with Florence Osty and looks at sociological consulting within organisations. In every case study, the books examines value conflicts in the workplace and paths to overcome them: different frames of justice are applied in different organisational contexts. At the end of the chapter, a box summarises the general methodology set up and used in the book.

Commentary :
The first case study was co-authored with Marc Zune and takes an in-depth look at “platform capitalism”, The second case study, co-authored with Pierre Stassart, Antoinette Dumont and their colleagues, looks at the agroecological transition from a transformative perspective. Far from merely setting a goal without considering how to reach it, this article explores the tensions that exist in the agroecology sector as a result of its efforts to develop sustainable agriculture. These tensions relate mainly to labour issues; however, more generally speaking, they are generated by the social context in which agroecological farming is carried out. Again, several scenarios are presented, each of which reveals a specific dilemma requiring an adequate frame of justice. In this case study, unlike the previous one, we are not talking about a large group confronted with a conflict between two values of equal importance, but about a series of actors who interpret common values in different ways. Examples of this are the different interpretations of “transition” among Walloon vegetable growers engaged in agroecology; of “autonomy” in an association of veterinarians and sheep breeders in the Millavois region3; and of “professionalism” within a European network of seed producers who sell vegetable seeds and advocate a global approach to plant health. In each case, the use of frames of justice enables the identification and resolution of a fundamental injustice. This research has also highlighted the epistemological foundations of the frames of justice, and the importance of the researcher–actor relationship in the identification and stabilisation of these frames over time. Conflicting interpretations of common values that divide social actors engaged in specific situations: this is the very definition of “type two” conflicts. The third case is based on a dialogue with Florence Osty and explores the role of sociological consulting in such matters. By “sociological consulting”, I mean a form of consulting that focuses on the social relationships within organisations, while being mindful of individual situations and change trajectories.
