Abstract :
[en] Under the effect of wetting and drying, some cylinders of Bathonian limestone (of ca.30% porosity) undergo changes in length which may exceed 5 micrometres/cm. Since the length of the sample appears to increase progressively following several cycles of drying/wetting, the authors believe the phenomenon to be a process of mechanical weathering. -from English summary
