Abstract :
[en] Vaccination for food producing animals is a fast evolving field. The evolution in this field is not only due to scientific and technical progresses, but also to a different, more epidemiological, approach of vaccination. Vaccination for food producing animals did also broaden its perspectives; in some cases, the aim of vaccination is more to protect human health than animal health. Finally other aspects are taken into consideration, such as animal welfare, protection of consumers and environmental protection. The problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics may partly be solved by the coming back of preventive vaccination.
