[en] Female neuroscientists are still underrepresented in various aspects of the academic life. The efforts of the community to mitigate this issue are growing but can elicit adverse reactions, partially due to inaccurate awareness on the current situation, as well as misconception or misunderstanding of some initiatives. We will first examine empirical data to address these issues and then discuss the different approaches that have been taken at institutional, organizational and individual levels to counter gender bias. As part of the range of proposed solutions, we have created the Women in Neuroscience Repository (WiNRepo), an initiative to increase the visibility of women in neuroscience.
