Using Spray-Drying process to control the particle morphology for battery and pharmaceutical applications

he spray-drying method consists in producing a dry powder from a solution or a suspension. The fluid is pulverized into fine droplets in the drying chamber. The hot air allows solvent evaporation and the dried particles are formed. This process is currently used in the industry area thanks to wide number of parameter that can be modified. Moreover it allows to control easily the size and the morphology of the particles. Here we discuss the possibilities of using spray-drying for batteries and pharceutical applications.
