[en] A study was carried out on 30 pig farms in 2 highland dictricts (Luc Nam and Luc Ngan) of Bac
Giang province from January 2008 to September 2009 in order to evaluate reproductive performance, the growth rate, carcass and meat quality of crossbreds from F1(Y×MC) sows and Duroc, Landrace or F1(Landrace × Yorkshire) boars. Results showed that F1(Y × MC) sows mated with Duroc, Landrace or F1(Landrace × Yorkshire) boars had good reproductive performances. The growth rate, FCR and lean meat percentage of two D × F1(Y × MC) and L × F1(Y × MC) crossbreds were better than F1(L × Y) × F1(Y × MC) crosbreds. Meat quality based on sensory criteria of these three types of crossbreds was satisfactory.
