[fr] Il y a bientôt 70 ans, en 1947, Bernardo Alberto Houssay recevait un télégramme en provenance de Stockholm à son domicile, à Buenos Aires. Il lui était annoncé sa nomination au Prix Nobel de Médecine ou Physiologie, pour ses découvertes sur le rôle de l’antéhypophyse sur la régulation du métabolisme glucidique. Ce prix Nobel sera partagé le 10 décembre de cette année avec Gerty et Carl Cori (pour leurs découvertes sur les voies métaboliques du glycogène). Sa vie et son œuvre, que nous remémorons ici, sont l’histoire d’une volonté farouche de développer les sciences de la vie en Amérique Latine. [en] Seventy years ago, in 1947, Bernardo Alberto Houssay received a telegram from Stockholm at his home, in Buenos Aires. He was nominated to the Nobel Prize of Medicine or Physiology, for his discoveries on the role of anterior pituitary on the regulation of carbohydrate metabolism. This Nobel Prize will be shared on 10 December this year with Gerty and Carl Cori (for their discoveries on the metabolic pathways of glycogen). Bernardo Houssay’s life and work, that we remember here, are the story of a fierce determination to develop the science of life in Latin America.
