Abstract :
[en] Objective of this study was to define and derive a modern breeding goal for Belgian Blue cattle. This breed is well known for its hyper-muscularity and current selection is based on this trait. Also considered in the current recording schemes are several other traits with early growth, up to one year of age and linear type traits being the most important. But the correct economic weightings of these traits and eventual other more functional, but not necessarily yet recorded traits, as calving ease, fertility and legs and feet, are still unclear.
