Abstract :
[en] Decision-making in Belgian sentence implementation courts is the culmination of a long process, which depends on multiple actors. In this paper, we will focus on the practices and interactions of these professional stakeholders (the prison clerk, prison governor, psychosocial team), as well as on the observation of hearings in prison. In doing so we will highlight how early release from prison might be seen as the result of a process coordinated by some rules and documents, but also as a process of cooperation and sensemaking.
