[en] Dementias are frequent pathologies. Psychotic symptoms are frequently associated with dementia. The prevalence of delusion in dementias vary from 10 to 73%. In dementia, psychotic disorders have a clinical presentation which is different from primary psychoses like schizophrenia. This reality encourages the clinician to eliminate an organic disorder in patients presenting psychotic disorders at an old age. According to clinical studies, the nonpharmacological approach is the first line strategy in the treatment of psychotic symptoms in dementia.
