[en] The diurnal nutation being enough demonstrated by the author, he concluded at the globe fluidity under its solid crust, and as a result of the inaccuracy of the period of 305 days, attributed by the astronomers at the initial nutation, period that would be correct only if the Earth was solid. He thus looked for the real length of this period. [fr] La nutation diurne étant assez démontrée pour l’auteur, il en a conclu à la fluidité du globe sous son écorce solide, et par suite, à l’inexactitude de la période de 305 jours, attribuée par les astronomes à la nutation initiale, période qui ne serait correcte que si la Terre était solide. Il a donc cherché la longueur réelle de cette période.
