[en] The concern of this paper is the behaviour of a system consisting of two angular contact rolling element bearings. The author's aim is to develop rational rules for a proper choice of the preload, as a function of the desired effect on the life or the stiffness of the bearing arrangement. [fr] Cet article étudie le comportement de deux roulements à contact oblique montés en opposition et tente d'établir des règles rationnelles pour le choix du serrage initial, en fonction de l'effet désiré sur la durée de vie ou la raideur de la liaison.
