Abstract :
[en] This book provides the very first overview of social enterprise models emerging in all 15 countries which were member states of the European Union in the 1990's. Such an overview is based on a common analytical grid which is known as the EMES approach to social enterprise. The second part offers theoretical lines along which many subsequent works have been developed. Funded by the 4th Framework Programme of the European Commission's DG Research, the 4-year research project which resulted in that book and was entitled EMES (the acronym of the project's title in French - émergence de l'entreprise sociale) also served as a first building block for the creation of the EMES European Research Network. see www.emes.net
